SESLOC Federal Credit Union is seeking an experienced HR Specialist to join our growing team. 

In this role you will provide general HR and Administrative support to the department in a number of areas including: employee benefit plans, leave of absences, recruitment and selection process, payroll, HRIS and policies and procedures in support of achieving organizational and HR strategic goals.  You will be the primary back-up for payroll which includes assisting with payroll processing and data input into the HRIS systems.  Perform other Human Resources duties as assigned.  Ensure confidentiality, discretion, and compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations at all times. Interface with staff, management, and visitors to the credit union, ensuring professional, caring, and helpful service at all times. Oh, and we also like to have fun so chalkboard art skills, shopping for and participating at company BBQs and employee events are essential in this role as well.

This position will be based at SESLOC’s Headquarters location on Broad Street in San Luis Obispo.

Education and Experience

A two year college degree or completion of specialized course of study at business or trade school or professional association and a minimum of two years’ similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.  Sufficient professional experience to demonstrate competency in benefits administration, recruitment and selection, leave of absence, payroll processing and regulations, knowledge of HR practices and legislation.  Knowledge to demonstrate sufficient understanding of COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA, HIPAA, ACA, wage and hour laws.  Ability to perform payroll functions.  HRIS experience. ADP experience preferred. Previous credit union or financial institution experience preferred.
