A brand new, European style café opening in San Luis Obispo in mid-December. The barista role is responsible for hospitality-driven coffee service within the Company. Display a passion for coffee, creative flair, attention to detail, with a strong focus on hospitality and the guest experience. The Barista will play a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences and maintaining high standards of coffee service and overall hospitality for the Company. Employee needs to work well in a team environment and ensure each product is executed beautifully and consistently. 
 

Responsibilities:

• Prepare espresso, coffee, and tea beverages to exacting standards
• Ensure all drinks are crafted with speed, accuracy, and visual consistency
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, equipment, and service areas
• Engage guests in a warm, professional, and knowledgeable manner
• Support opening and closing duties, restocking, and prep
• Work collaboratively with the team to maintain a high-performance service flow
• Follow all food safety and health code standards
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a barista in a specialty or high-volume café or bar
• Strong understanding of espresso extraction, milk texturing, and drink presentation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for hospitality and guest experience
• Ability to multitask under pressure while maintaining composure
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must have weekend availability
• Reliable transportation and punctuality

Compensation:

• Hourly pay based on experience and skill level
• Tip share
• Opportunity for additional shifts or responsibilities as the business grows

Schedule Commitment:

• ~6 hour shifts per day
• Part-time
• Weekend availability is required (Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday)
• Occasional coverage for special events or holidays
