We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Assistant / Broker Trainee to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our logistics operations, ensuring efficient supply chain management and transportation planning. This position requires strong organizational skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the management of supply chain operations, including transportation and logistics planning.
• Coordinate with carriers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, including data entry into transportation management systems.
• Support account management by building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Facilitate business to business sales efforts by generating leads and assisting with inside sales activities.
• Negotiate contracts with carriers and suppliers to optimize pricing and service levels.
• Ensure compliance with FDA regulations and other relevant industry standards.
• Collaborate with the sales team on logistics, sales initiatives and pricing strategies.
• Utilize CRM software to track customer interactions and manage accounts efficiently.
• Perform dispatching duties as needed to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with freight operations, including 3PL (Third Party Logistics) and NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) is a plus.
• Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to manage contracts effectively.
• Proficient in data entry and documentation processes related to logistics operations.
• Understanding of transportation planning principles and logistics sales strategies.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
