Job Summary:

As a Vacation Home Inspector with Digs Vacation Rentals, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our vacation properties meet the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, operational and overall guest experience. You will perform detailed inspections on arrival, departure, and back-to-back turnovers of vacation homes, ensuring properties are ready for guests. Additionally, you will assist with property checks, report maintenance issues, and perform light cleaning duties and maintenance tasks when necessary. You will also communicate effectively with staff and management to ensure smooth operations.

Key Functions:

  • Inspection Duties: Perform daily arrival, departure, and back-to-back inspections on vacation rental properties as assigned by management.
  • Property Checks: Conduct checks on vacant homes to ensure the properties are secure and ready for the next guest.
  • Cleaning & Touch-Ups: Perform light cleaning duties and touch-ups in vacation homes to maintain the highest level of cleanliness and presentation.
  • Maintenance Reporting: Identify and report any maintenance issues or necessary repairs to the appropriate team for timely resolution. You will also perform light maintenance tasks such as replace batteries, filters and install locks.
  • Supplies Delivery: Load, deliver and put all consumable supplies into designated supply areas for each unit.
  • Software Knowledge: Utilize multiple software programs to manage tasks, report issues, and track inspections. Mac computer experience a plus.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication with the Operations Manager, other team members, and guests when necessary to ensure all parties are informed.

Required Knowledge/Skills:

  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on detail when inspecting properties, identifying any issues, and ensuring homes are guest-ready to the highest standards.
  • Customer Service: Ability to deal with all types of personalities with professionalism and courtesy, ensuring a positive guest experience.
  • Multitasking: Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously, managing time effectively.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment.

•   Work Under Pressure: Capable of performing well under pressure, especially during high turnover periods.

  • Team Collaboration: Ability to communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and guests as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and twist.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including outdoor settings and different weather conditions.

Working Environment:

  • Office/Field Split: 10% office work, 90% travel and fieldwork at vacation homes.
  • Travel Requirements: Must have a reliable source of transportation. Must have a valid driver's license and have a good driving record.
  • Availability: Must have 7-day availability, as inspections and tasks may be required on weekends or holidays.

Education & Experience:

  • Preferred: Previous experience in a hospitality-related field, such as vacation rental management, property management, or hotel housekeeping/maintenance.
  • Required: A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering an excellent guest experience.
