BASIC FUNCTIONS:

R&D / Prototype & CNC machining to support our motto “We Build Really Cool Stuff”.  Next Intent's customers in the Aerospace, Aircraft, Defense, National Laboratories and Space industries. Next Intent is a leader in CNC & EDM machining on the Central Coast of California. We are a top supplier to NASA/Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Moog Space & Defense, BAE Systems and Northrop Grumman. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Machine prototype, R & D or production parts in small to medium production runs on both conventional and CNC machine tools and Grinding equipment. Fixtures as necessary to assure proper work holding principles and quality control to support requirements of CNC machining production runs. Collaborate with CNC production machinists, Team Leaders and Manufacturing Manager on fixtures as needed.
2. Quality Assurance: complete 1Facotry QA database for each first article part prior to completing production run to assure part meets specifications for dimensions, surface conditions, surface features or assembled components. 1Facotry QA database will be required to be completed through production run depending upon the part requirements. Any dimension less than .002” may require 100% inspection recorded on Process Control Sheets. 
3. R & D work may require Next Intent developing a sequence of operations for future production runs for our customer. 
4. Setup & production as required. When necessary, setup and operate CNC lathes or mills per Next Intent standard operating procedures, tracking time, tool usage, fixturing, Setup and Cycle times. 
5. You will be responsible for all the daily and weekly Preventative Maintenance of the machine tools for which you are the primary operator.
6. Success: the areas of expertise that you perform to satisfy one or more of the critical relationships with your supervisor, employer, customer (internal & external) and suppliers. Success areas may be different for each critical relationship, or it may be the same for several relationships. In general, the following are possible areas of success:

• Produce quality work
• Know the Actual vs. Estimated Setup and Cycle Times for the parts / machine tool you are running
• Do additional work (clean & deburr parts during cycle time)
• Paperwork & Data collection complete and accurate

We put parts on Mars, as a key supplier to NASA/Jet Propulsion Laboratory.  (2003 Mars Rovers, 2011 Curiosity Rover, 2020 Mars Perseverance Rover.) We have parts on James Webb Space Telescope, Giant Magellan Telescope and Nancy Roman Grace Telescope.
