Dental Treatment Coordinator / Patient Care CoordinatorComprehensive Periodontics & Dental Implants is a respected, fast-paced periodontal and dental implant specialty practice serving patients throughout California's Central Coast.We are seeking a motivated, caring, and highly organized Dental Treatment Coordinator who communicates confidently, works well as part of a team, and is committed to providing an exceptional patient experience. This is more than a traditional receptionist position. The Treatment Coordinator serves as an important connection between our patients, referring dental offices, doctors, and clinical team—from the patient's first phone call through completion of treatment and follow-up care.This is a full-time, multi-location position anticipated to include approximately:Two to three days per week in our San Luis Obispo officeOne day per week in our Santa Maria/Orcutt officeOne to two days per week in our Paso Robles officeThe specific combination of days will vary based on practice and patient-care needs. Reliable transportation and the ability to work at all three locations are required. Your primary goal will be to ensure that every patient arrives prepared for a well-coordinated appointment, moves smoothly through the treatment process, and leaves with a clear understanding of their treatment plan, financial responsibilities, and next steps.Key responsibilities include:Serving as a primary point of contact for patients and referring dental offices.Communicating with patients in a warm, professional, and reassuring manner.Coordinating patient care from the initial referral or phone call through consultation, treatment, and follow-up.Presenting treatment plans clearly and helping patients understand recommended care, fees, sequencing, and next steps.Answering patient questions and addressing concerns that may otherwise prevent or delay treatment.Coordinating appointments, treatment phases, and communication among patients, doctors, clinical team members, and referring offices.Managing the appointment schedule and scheduling templates to support efficient patient flow, appropriate clinical utilization, and practice production goals.Confirming that required records, referrals, radiographs, medical information, and other documentation are obtained before appointments.Assisting patients with scheduling, payment arrangements, insurance-related questions, and applicable practice financial policies.Collecting payments and ensuring that patient accounts and appointment information are complete and accurate.Maintaining detailed and professional documentation in the patient record.Supporting front-office operations, including answering phones, greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and responding to messages.Helping create a calm, organized, and welcoming experience for patients undergoing periodontal and implant treatment.Collaborating closely with doctors, clinical team members, and other administrative staff across multiple locations.The ideal candidate will demonstrate:Excellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligenceA professional, compassionate, and patient-centered approachConfidence discussing treatment recommendations, fees, and financial responsibilitiesStrong organizational skills and attention to detailThe ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentSound judgment, initiative, and follow-throughA positive attitude and genuine team mentalityComfort using computers, scheduling systems, and electronic patient recordsDependable transportation and the ability to work in San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria/Orcutt, and Paso RoblesPrevious dental front-office, treatment-coordination, scheduling, insurance, or specialty-practice experience is strongly preferred. Periodontal or dental implant experience is beneficial but not required for a candidate with strong transferable skills and a willingness to learn.
