This role is ideal for someone who is organized, people‑focused, and excited to grow into a key office position within our Home Instead team. You will begin as a part‑time Administrative Assistant and, as you develop, may grow into either a Staffing Coordinator or Recruiter based on your strengths and interests.
This is an in‑office position located in San Luis Obispo.
What You'll Do as an Administrative Assistant
You will support daily office operations and learn the core functions of staffing, recruiting, and caregiver support. Your responsibilities include:
- Greeting caregivers, clients, and visitors with professionalism and warmth
- Answering phones, routing calls, and supporting client and caregiver inquiries
- Assisting with caregiver onboarding, paperwork, and compliance tracking
- Supporting scheduling activities, including shift updates and communication
- Helping maintain accurate records, files, and digital documentation
- Preparing materials for training, meetings, and client visits
- Assisting with recruiting tasks such as applicant outreach and interview scheduling
- Providing general administrative support to the office team
- Learning the workflows of both staffing and recruiting to determine long‑term fit
As you grow, you may take on:
- Caregiver scheduling and shift coordination
- Applicant screening and pipeline management
- Caregiver engagement and retention support
- Client communication and follow‑up tasks
This role also participates in our office on‑call rotation, supporting caregivers and clients after hours. You will be trained and supported before taking on any on‑call responsibilities.
This position is designed to develop into a full‑time role as you gain experience and demonstrate strengths in either staffing or recruiting.

Experience in home care, healthcare, customer service, or office administration is helpful but not required — we will train you.
