Position Summary

The Hospitality Associate is a key member of the guest relations team and is the initial contact that most guests have when visiting the estate. Therefore, exemplary communication skills, a professional demeanor and a high level of customer service are required to ensure that all guests receive an experience that is congruent with the philosophy and customer service values. The ideal candidate must be systems savvy, extremely detailed oriented, the flexibility to manage multiple priorities and work well in a team environment.

Service Heart & Preparedness

  • Prepare for each day's visits by reviewing reservations, guest notes, special occasions, and expectations so guests feel truly expected.

Guest Service:
  • Greet all visitors with gracious hospitality
  • Act as Ambassador to the estate and to Crimson Wine Group
  • Provide informative, engaging and personalized tour and tasting experiences
  • Educate guests about the winery story, wines, and brand
  • Inform and recommend to guests the benefits of Wine Club
  • Effectively suggest and sell wine and wine club memberships
  • Drive revenue by selling wine, merchandise, tasting, and memberships to guests
  • Participate in special events and team meetings
  • Actively continue education in wine production, viticulture, and winery history
  • Represent the winery at outside functions when necessary
  • Follow all company safety guidelines including Responsible Beverage Service

Tasting Room Operations:
  • Set up / break down all indoor and outdoor tasting room spaces
  • Opening and closing procedures as a keyholder
  • Open and verify condition of wines
  • Prepare printed guest materials
  • Open/Close POS system/registers
  • Stock wine and merchandise on tasting room floor and storerooms
  • Perform sales transactions for carry-out and shipping orders
  • Maintain clean and organized guest spaces at all times
  • Assist with weekly and monthly inventory of items for the Tasting Room, includes wine and non-wine

Additional:
  • RedChirp response and monitoring of texts
  • Regular review of website, TOCK maintenance of blueprints, edits and auditing
  • Inhouse updating and coordination of printing of TR collateral
  • Merchandise, food program, and office supply ordering and maintenance
  • Assist with coordination and execution of trade visits and tours as needed
  • Support private, signature, and club events, which may include evening shifts
  • Assist with outreach efforts

Qualifications
  • Must have knowledge of wine and food and continually take initiative to continue learning
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Sales aptitude
  • Comfortable speaking in front of crowds
  • Able to prioritize, manage time and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced venue
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
  • Able to stand, walk, bend, reach throughout an 8-hour shift with occasional pushing, stooping and pulling in indoor and outdoor work environments
  • Manual dexterity to handle, polish glassware
  • Must possess or have ability to acquire a Wine service and Food Handler's certifications
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Experience with a luxury wine brand a plus

The projected hourly pay rate for this position is $18.00 to $19.00 per hour (in addition to tips and commission for DTC). This rate is the projected compensation for this position, however the actual compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as (but not limited to) candidate qualifications, related experience and education, candidate work location and market data. Crimson Wine Group reserves the right to modify the pay range/rate at any time in the future.
