In addition to motion/motor control, design responsibilities can include power conversion, power control/management, and a variety of other electronic circuits. Project assignments can cover full product life cycle, including requirement derivation, conceptual design, detailed design, prototyping, integration and test, transition into MFG, and product sustainment. This position is divided into two classifications: Electrical Engineer 1,2. The compensation pay band includes and is based on level of skills, knowledge, and experience.Electrical Engineer 1 typically requires 0 to 4 years of relatable engineering experienceElectrical Engineer 2 typically requires 5 to 8 years of relatable engineering experienceDuties and ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.Lead and direct other engineering teammates as needed.Participate in Trust Automation's design and development processes, including design reviewsContribute to project success by meeting design requirements on schedule and within budgetAssist Program Managers and Trust VPs with project/program planning, including specification of system application solutions, task prioritization, and risk mitigationAssist with customer interaction and perform product/system demonstrations as neededPosition RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:BS degree in Electrical EngineeringDigital and analog circuit design experienceExperience in power electronics designExperience in schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium)Self-accountable and able to work with minimal oversightExperience with electric motors, drive electronics, and power conversion circuitsExperience with Microcontroller/Microprocessor based systemsExperience with circuit simulation tools (i.e. – PSpice)Practical experience in PCB level component troubleshootingPractical experience in electrical system level troubleshootingExperience with closed-loop control of motor torque, speed, and position experienceControl system development experience (i.e. – PID) preferredFamiliarity with system simulation tools (i.e. – MATLAB, SIMULINK) preferredFamiliarity with communication interfaces/protocols: SPI, I2C, Modbus, USB, CAN, RS232, RS422/RS485, Ethernet, EtherCATAbility to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environmentProfessional written and verbal communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skillsAbility to manage time effectively and work effectively with project managers and upper managementThis position may be asked to drive for company purposes during the course of employment.
