Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Water Resources Engineer III-IV to join our team in San Luis Obispo, California. This role involves water resources planning and design, with a focus on delivering technical solutions for water supply, water quality, master planning, infrastructure modeling, utility design, and treatment systems. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience and a strong background in civil and water resource engineering. This position offers opportunities for professional growth, including project management and client-facing responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare engineering reports, plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) for water resources and civil engineering projects.
- Design municipal public works infrastructure projects related to water, wastewater, stormwater, and recycled water.
- Conduct water and wastewater master planning and hydraulic modeling.
- Perform feasibility studies and designs for recycled water systems.
- Design water distribution systems, pump stations, sewer collection systems, and lift stations.
- Develop water and wastewater treatment system designs.
- Support civil/water/wastewater design for private and commercial projects, including wineries.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies and support permitting processes.
- Assist with project management functions, including scope, budget, and scheduling control for complex projects.
- Contribute to business development efforts, including proposal and SOQ development, interview preparation, and representing the firm in industry and community settings.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Professional registration (California license preferred).
- Minimum of seven years of qualifying experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD / Civil 3D.
- Strong understanding of relevant standards and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in water and sewer modeling programs such as WaterCAD, InfoSWMM, and Aquanuity software.
- Experience with GIS databases related to public agency utility systems, utility master planning, and preparation of utility Atlas maps (preferred).
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro (preferred).

Pay Range: $115,000 - $125,000
