Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to join our dynamic procurement team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end purchasing process, ensuring the timely acquisition of materials, components, and services necessary for manufacturing and operational needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in procurement management, supplier relations, and contract negotiation, contributing to the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of our supply chain operations. Responsibilities

  • Issue and track purchase orders for inventory, non-inventory items, tooling, and supplies
  • Monitor and achieve monthly and annual inventory targets
  • Generate purchase orders aligned with the Plan for Every Part (PFEP) and report exceptions
  • Oversee daily purchasing operations and ensure process efficiency
  • Manage purchase order releases in compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to support production demands
  • Analyze inventory and adjust orders to support replenishment, cost control, and optimization initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align material and supply requirements
  • Coordinate the return and resolution of non-conforming materials with suppliers
  • Track and expedite critical shipments to ensure on-time delivery
  • Support supplier transitions to ensure uninterrupted supply continuity
  • Assist with new product introductions by establishing supply chain readiness
  • Safeguard confidential company information
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen events
  • Adapt quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment

Experience

  • 5+ years' experience in purchasing with OEM or related field
  • Education equivalent to 2-years of college or comparable work experience in a business-related field. Bachelor's degree is a plus
  • Proven expertise working with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle EBS for procurement processes.
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing strategies, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
  • Familiarity with inventory management techniques, logistics coordination, and supply chain optimization.
  • Experience in negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships effectively.
  • Solid understanding of procurement regulations, pricing strategies, and contract management principles.
  • Excellent communication skills coupled with strong analytical abilities to assess supplier performance and market conditions.
