WAREHOUSE/DELIVERY WORKER I
BASIC FUNCTION
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist in the distribution of a variety of warehouse supplies, food, furniture,
materials, and equipment; receive materials in the warehouse; perform a variety of record and inventory control functions
pertaining to the District warehousing and distribution operation.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
Receive warehouse goods, materials, and supplies and check them against purchase orders and delivery documentation
to assure correct merchandise and lack of damageE; store received goods, materials, and equipment in specified
warehouse areasE; prepare warehouse requisitions and ordersE; complete required forms and documentationE; maintain
accurate inventory of supplies and equipmentE; package warehouse items and prepare items for deliveryE; prepare
appropriate documentationE; operate a variety of warehouse equipment, including a computer, forklift, pallet jack, and
hand truckE; drive a delivery truck to and from delivery sites as requiredE; maintain the warehouse in a neat, orderly, and
secure conditionE; review warehouse stock on a continuous basis and report items which have reached a specified
reorder pointE; maintain related recordsE; label and mark warehouse items with a predetermined classification and
identification codeE; assist in loading and unloading activities; assist in conducting the annual warehouse stock inventory;

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Any combination equivalent to: Graduation from High School and one year experience in a warehouse and distribution operation, including the operation of a delivery vehicle, preferably in an educational organization.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Valid California Driver's License;

Insurability by the District's liability insurance carrier.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Environment:

Warehouse environment;

Driving vehicle to conduct work;

Constant interruptions.

Physical Abilities:

Lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling heavy objects;

Reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally;

Kneeling or crouching;

Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate various warehouse vehicles and equipment;

Seeing to read and prepare various materials;

Hearing and speaking to exchange information.

Hazards:

Driving a vehicle during adverse weather conditions;

Working around moving objects or vehicles.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • DMV Printout (Valid within last 60 days, not needed if working in a position that already requires a DMV Printout)
  • Proof of HS Graduation (Diploma or transcripts or GED/equivalent)
