We are seeking an exceptionally motivated and empathetic Outreach and Education Coordinator to be a voice for the Highmark Caring Place in our communities. This is a vital role for someone who thrives on building relationships, delivering impactful presentations, and inspiring a variety of groups - from grieving families to dedicated professionals - to engage with our life-changing work.
Your Role in Our Mission:
As our Outreach and Education Coordinator, you will be on the front lines, passionately spreading the word about the vital services of The Caring Place. You will bridge the gap between those who need support and the resources we offer, transforming awareness into engagement. Your efforts will not only expand our reach but also foster a more grief-informed, compassionate community, driving participation across all facets of our program."
This role is based in Pittsburgh, PA
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and implement facility based peer support sessions for grieving children and their families and school based support groups for grieving students.
- Plan and implement specialized programs designed to raise awareness and provide additional support to participants of the Caring Place peer support programs as well as to their extended families members..
- Plan and implement or support a comprehensive volunteer program including recruitment, training, recognition, and retention components.
- Plan and implement or support an ongoing outreach and education strategy to generate family participants, volunteers and school partnerships, and community partnerships.
- Conduct thorough assessments to determine family's level of appropriateness for the Caring Place program and/or need for other community services.
- Other duties as assigned or requested.
EDUCATION Required - Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Child Development, or other related field
Substitutions Preferred EXPERIENCE Required - 3 years working with children in a mental health setting
- Work with therapy/support groups
- Work with grieving children and/or families
- Public speaking and/or Training
- Knowledge of local mental health and social service agencies
Preferred LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS Required Driver's License
Preferred SKILLS - Proficiency in MS Office
- Possess good written and oral communication skills.
