Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to support a heavy industrial manufacturing facility. This role focuses on the fabrication, repair, and maintenance of precision parts, tooling, jigs, and dies used in plant equipment.
This is a hands-on position operating manual machine tools (not CNC) and is ideal for machinists who take pride in precision work and equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses
• Fabricate and repair precision parts, tooling, fixtures, and plant components
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics
• Use precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, and gauges
• Inspect finished parts to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machine shop equipment
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed
• Follow all safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work area

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 3-5 years of manual machining experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments
• Strong knowledge of manual machining techniques (non-CNC)
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and prints
• Proficiency with precision measurement tools
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting

Preferred Experience

• Experience in heavy manufacturing or industrial plant environments
• Tooling, jig, and die repair experience
• Welding or fabrication skills
• Experience supporting plant maintenance operations
