Salary Range: Non-Exempt $24.00 - $28.53 (based on experience and education)

A Brief Overview

Plays an essential role in the core production administration and organic certification, and a key user in Project SIMPLE. Serves as the administrative role in managing agriculture administration to ensure all seed production requirements are met. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. The demand for this position necessitates dedicating 50+ hours weekly during peak seasons. Travels to facilities and production fields to assist on projects as needed. Works in close collaboration with the Regional Production Manager, management staff, and farming staff to carry out processes related to the business's productivity. Develop and coordinate meetings as needed. Assists with other aspects of the operation throughout the season, which may include scheduling, budget analysis, project planning/processing and other Office administrative activities.

Essential Activities

  • Assists with invoice coding for the right jobs and classification. Work directly with Administration at CA Headquarters with communication on invoices and vendor communications

  • Assists with purchases and reviews invoices with management. Assist with submitting phytosanitary field applications.

  • Assists Regional Production Manager, and other management staff with all aspects of seed production administration.

  • Participate in regional budget evaluations and annual capital budgets.

  • Organizes local and regional meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture or Business Administration or related discipline - Preferred
  • 1-3 years professional administrative assistant and/or logistics background – Required
  • Ability to travel 5% - 20% of annual time - Required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to learn and understand the growing of crops, the natural cycle, growth conditions and principles of crop production.

  • Independent thinker, creative, and a team player.

  • Ability to participate in local and international teams.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Excel, and ability to learn and use Farm Management System.

  • Experience with Organic certification requirements, and contract development and budgeting.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Willingness to learn and understand vegetable seed production development and associated administrative tasks.
