Expeditor Position

Oyster Loft is seeking a strong, kitchen-oriented Expeditor to support service at a higher level than a traditional expo role. This position is integrated into kitchen operations and requires an understanding of food preparation, timing, and plate composition in addition to managing service flow.

The Expeditor plays a key role in coordinating between the kitchen and front-of-house teams, assisting with final dish execution, and ensuring accuracy, presentation, and pacing throughout service.

This position pays $17$18 per hour depending on experience, plus tips.

Responsibilities include managing and coordinating the flow of tickets from kitchen to service staff, actively working with the kitchen to prioritize and pace orders during service, assisting with final plating, garnish, and dish organization before service, checking dishes for accuracy, presentation, and temperature before leaving the kitchen, communicating clearly with both kitchen and front-of-house teams to maintain timing, identifying and resolving service bottlenecks in real time, supporting kitchen operations as needed during service, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the expo and pass area, and ensuring standards are consistently met across all dishes leaving the kitchen.

Requirements include previous experience as an expeditor or in a high-volume restaurant, some kitchen experience, understanding of kitchen workflow, timing, and plating standards, strong communication and leadership presence during service, ability to multitask and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment, high attention to detail and consistency, ability to stand for extended periods of time, ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds, availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, and ability to obtain and maintain a valid California Food Handler Certification.
