Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Santa Maria, California. This is a contract to permanent position, offering the opportunity to grow within the role while contributing to the financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting skills, with experience in the construction industry. The candidate must also excel in managing contract billing, general ledger activities, and financial reporting.Responsibilities:- Manage journal entries and maintain the general ledger to ensure accurate financial records.- Oversee accounts receivable processes, including billing and collections.- Utilize QuickBooks Online for accounting tasks and financial management.- Conduct contract audits to verify compliance and accuracy.- Handle sales tax reporting and ensure compliance with local and state regulations.- Process bank deposits and reconcile accounts to ensure financial accuracy.- Generate detailed financial reports and assist in budget preparation.- Collaborate with team members to improve accounting workflows and procedures Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or five years of experience in the construction industry.- Strong understanding of general ledger management and journal entries.- Experience in accounts receivable processes, including billing and collections.- Advanced skills in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.- Knowledge of contract auditing procedures and bank deposit processing.- Ability to analyze financial data and produce accurate reports.- Excellent attention to detail, with organizational and communication skills.- Proficiency in corporate tax preparation and sales tax reporting.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
