Veterinary Assistant

Salary: $19-$21 per hour

VCA Arroyo Grande Animal Hospital is a busy, small-animal practice in Arroyo Grande, California. We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team.

Location: 1199 E. Grand Avenue, Arroyo Grande, CA 93420

Schedule: 4-10s, Monday - Friday with alternating Saturdays

Duties will include:

• Tracking scheduled appointments
• Assisting veterinarians; ensuring patients are served promptly, multitasking
• Drawing up vaccines
• Taking a pet's vitals
• Cleaning, stocking, and maintaining exam rooms
• Animal Restraint
• Assist with technical and clerical duties as assigned
• Maintaining medical records
• Preparing the surgical suite and the surgical patients
• Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging

Qualifications:

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• At least one year of Veterinary Assistant, Veterinary Technician Assistant, or Room Technician experience preferred
• Must have great communication skills,
• You must be a "people person" and can interact with clients, doctors, and staff.
• Must have a flexible schedule, be organized, be able to handle high phone volume, can multi-task and prioritize
