Welcome to the Santa Maria-Bonita School District website. We are the largest school district in Santa Barbara County with about 17,500 pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade students. Job Summary

BASIC FUNCTION
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, receive, store, and deliver books, foods, mail, and a variety of warehouse supplies, materials, and equipment; verify accuracy of receipts against orders; perform a variety of record and inventory control functions pertaining to the warehouse and distribution operation.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
Receive warehouse goods, materials, and supplies and check them against purchase orders and delivery documentation to assure correct merchandise and proper conditionE; assist supervisor in the scheduling of duties assigned to staff; store received goods, materials, and equipment in specified warehouse areasE; fill warehouse requisitions and orders and complete the necessary clerical functions associated with the processing of ordersE; package and prepare mail, equipment, supplies, and other materials for deliveryE; load, unload, and operate a delivery vehicle to drive items to
appropriate locations as assignedE; review warehouse stock on a continuous basis and reports items which have reached a specified reorder pointE; maintain an inventory of equipment and suppliesE; label and mark warehouse items utilizing a predetermined classification and identification systemE; maintain a variety of warehouse related files, forms and recordsE; operate a computer performing technical tasks and operate various warehouse equipment, such as a forklift, pallet jack, and hand truckE; communicate with various departments and vendors to exchange information, discuss needs
or resolve issues or concernsE; maintain the warehouse in a neat, orderly, and secure condition; pick up supplies from vendors and make deliveries of goods to sites; conduct the annual warehouse stock inventory; perform related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of:
Methods, procedures, and techniques pertaining to the receiving, distribution, and control of goods, materials, supplies
and equipment;

Requirements / Qualifications

  • DMV Printout (Issued within the past 60 days. Not needed if employed in a current position which requires a DMV Printout)
  • Proof of HS Graduation
