Novaris Search is partnering with a leading manufacturer in the personal care sector to recruit a Senior R&D Chemist. This role leads formulation projects, develops new products, and supports innovation across multiple categories.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refine formulations across skincare, haircare, personal care, and related categories, including OTC and non‑OTC products.
• Conduct laboratory testing, stability studies, and product performance evaluations.
• Create and maintain product specifications, documentation, and technical reports.
• Research new raw materials and technologies to support innovation.
• Oversee pilot batches and support scale‑up with production and process engineering teams.
• Troubleshoot batches, colour‑match when needed, and ensure formulas meet performance and regulatory requirements.
• Support audits, documentation compliance, and adherence to GLP, GMP, and SOP standards.
• Mentor junior chemists and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related field; Master's preferred.
• 8+ years of formulation experience within personal care, cosmetics, or other regulated consumer product environments.
• Strong expertise in emulsions, surfactants, polymers, colourants, and raw material chemistry.
• Experience with OTC product development is highly beneficial.
• Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks (e.g., FDA, PCPC) and ingredient labelling.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills.
• Proficient with lab equipment and standard software tools.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management abilities.
