About the Role:

We are seeking a hardware lead responsible for bringing advanced wireless optical communication system designs from concept to product. The candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team with expertise in photonics, electronics, control systems, and system integration. In collaboration with other technical leads, the engineer will architect cutting-edge wireless optical communication systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a multidisciplinary R&D hardware team developing next-generation technologies
  • Own and drive the hardware design roadmap and technical direction
  • Demonstrate strong cross-functional leadership, team management, execution, and influencing skills with ability to communicate effectively at the executive level
  • Manage hardware system design, integration, and testing, including building required lab capabilities
  • Identify and manage external contract manufacturers and vendors for rapid development and production
  • Mentor and coach team members
  • Drive impact through technology innovation with a passion for meaningful work


Required Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline
  • 10+ years of industry experience in hardware engineering
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams
  • Deep technical domain expertise in photonics and electronic design, including understanding of industry state-of-the-art to inform strategy
  • Knowledge in high-speed and mixed-signal circuit design


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Experience with photonics integrated circuits
  • Experience with embedded systems
