Position: Event Host

The Event Host serves as the primary guest-facing liaison for weddings and private events and acts as the conduit between the Event Coordinator and the client. This role ensures clear communication, strong guest experience, and smooth on-site execution of event plans.

Core Responsibilities (Event Host)

• Serve as the main on-site point of contact for event clients and hosts
• Communicate the event timeline, key details, and client preferences from the Event Coordinator to the client, and from the client back to the Event Coordinator/service team as needed
• Confirm and facilitate event flow for key moments (guest arrival, ceremony transitions, speeches/toasts, cake cutting, special dances, departures, etc., as applicable)
• Provide proactive guest-facing support and service recovery for the client/host(s) as needed
• Coordinate day-of communication with vendors as applicable (e.g., DJ/band, photographer, planner) to support timeline adherence
• Notify the Event Coordinator of any client-requested changes or issues requiring decisions

Event Server Role (Service Execution)

Event Servers are responsible for service execution and service standards, including:

• Guest table service, food and beverage delivery, clearing, resetting, and station duties
• Maintaining service pacing and standards at tables and within assigned areas
• Coordinating with the kitchen and bar for accurate and timely service
• Assisting with event setup/strike as assigned and supporting flip responsibilities per shift direction

The Event Host role is not intended to replace Event Servers or assume primary responsibility for standard server execution duties except as operationally necessary.

Requirements

This is a part-time position. Scheduling is based on event bookings and business needs. Evening and weekend availability is required.

Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours or more)
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and climb stairs as necessary in a multi-level restaurant environment
• Must have flexible availability, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Reliable transportation to and from the restaurant
• Ability to obtain and maintain a California Food Handler's Certification card and Responsible Beverage Service Certification
