OPPORTUNITY

Precision Construction Services is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a construction Estimator. This individual must be familiar with a wide range of worksites, cost structures, and project types. Job duties will include managing a bid board, acting as a proposal manager, and developing construction cost estimates at various levels of design maturity. The estimating work includes the evaluation of worksites, collaboration with contractors, vendors, and teammates in addition to development of comprehensive cost estimates.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate all aspects of the estimating process .
• Review construction documents, understand, and outline the scope of work to bid.
• As required, meet with potential customers/tenants to help determine project scope while maintaining confidentiality.
• Work closely with internal team members and outside contractors to determine project scopes.
• Identify qualified contractors and maintain bid solicitation lists.
• Develop and maintain resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.
• Create bid packages and solicit subcontractor engagement.
• Verify subcontractor coverage and completeness.
• Verify estimates fall within the defined scope, specific site conditions and schedule constraints.
• Prepare project bid packages and proposals.
• Support Project Managers on active projects under construction.
• Collaborate with Operations, Finance, and other relevant team members to prepare competitive, complete, accurate, timely and consistent estimates.
• Work with senior leadership to reduce waste and increase efficiencies within the estimating process.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field - engineering and/or construction management.
• 0-5 years' experience as a construction estimator.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency with cost estimating software.
• Familiarity with construction practices, costs, and procedures.
• Experience with vendor management.
• Ability to travel occasionally as needed based on business demand.
• Driving is a requirement of this job
