Home Health Aide (HHA) Opportunity

Maxim Healthcare Services is hiring for a Home Health Aide (HHA) in San Luis Obispo to provide personal care services, as necessary, to meet the patient's needs.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting patient with and per plan of care, including baths, oral hygiene, dressing and undressing, toileting activities, feeding, etc.
• Taking and recording oral, rectal and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure when ordered.
• Safe transfer and ambulation techniques.
• Exercise according to the plan of care.
• Performing range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered.
• Patient's laundry.
• Meeting safety needs of patients and using equipment safely and properly.
• Observation and teaching of home safety practices.
• Recognition of an emergency situation and knowledge of emergency management procedures.
• Must follow patients plan of care and complete all tasks assigned.
• Communicates in a constant, clear, and effective way with the client, family/caregiver and office.
• Observes and documents patient condition and reports any changes to the assigned nurse supervisor.

Requirements:

• Meets all training requirements in accordance with state and federal laws when applicable.
• Ability to read, follow written instructions and document care given.
• Possess and maintains current CPR certification in accordance with state regulation.
• PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Successful completion of Maxim screening examinations.
• Participation and completion of Maxim's competency program.
• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
