Brief Description

Inventory Specialists are responsible for providing support, analysis, and recommendations to assist all store management and ensure operational efficiency at store and delivery level.

Core Responsibilities

• Drive store profitability by guiding team members in delivering a positive and friendly experience through thoughtful conversation and exceptional customer service.
• Prioritize and communicate department issues to Inventory & Compliance.
• Optimize vendor/distributor deliveries and payment pickups for maximum effectiveness.
• Partner with store leadership to educate and communicate hourly and daily goals.
• Support floor coverage including breaks and lunches per business needs and Meal Break Policy.

Operations

• Support store level operational procedures accurately and timely.
• Provide loss prevention awareness training and oversee adherence to loss prevention practices.
• Assist in shipping and receiving processes and complete shipment turnaround.
• Maintain backstock areas clean and organized.
• Ensure compliance with DCC, state, city regulations and company emergency and safety procedures.
• Generate inventory reports by 3pm PST daily.

People Development

• Peer mentor for talent development and employee growth.
• Strategically train and develop a productive store team and provide strong candidates.
• Drive development of team members with leadership aptitude to ensure bench strength.

Communication

• Lead with strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Effectively delegate projects and follow up with the team.
• Maintain professional communication and problem?solving skills.
• Communicate store and company directives to the store.
• Participate in daily departmental and store meetings.
• Utilize Communication Binder and other resources to ensure important information reaches the entire team.

Store Environment and Merchandising

• Support the Store and Delivery Team to maximize sales through analytical and creative management of merchandise.
• Coach team to uphold customer service standards and product placement.
• Ensure neat, clean, organized store environment.
• Assist in merchandising and display of products.

Interpersonal Skills & Ownership

• Communicate effectively to all retail operations and partners.
• Develop partnerships to enable business success.
• Adapt to change and make decisions to improve personal and store performance.
• Work well with others, act professionally and with integrity.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a leader in a retail environment.
• Experience in highly regulated businesses (e.g., cannabis).
• Sound judgment in making decisions.
• Strong leadership skills with confidence in communication.
• Excellent consumer service orientation.
• Achievement of sales, inventory accuracy, and shrinkage metrics.
• Previous cannabis retail experience preferred.
• Must be 21+ years old and pass a federal background check via Live Scan.

Work Environment

• Professional cannabis store operating hours.
• Standard office and store equipment usage.
• Regular work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Demands

• Requires talking and standing, walking, using hands or feet, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
