Job Summary
Job Title: Mechanical Drafter I
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform various tasks assigned by Mechanical Engineers, Senior Engineers, and the Engineering Manager/Director.
- Assist in producing detailed schematics for HVAC systems based on instructions and pre-established guidelines.
- Assist Mechanical Engineers by participating in job site surveys to gather as-built technical information.
- Draft and develop layouts for mechanical systems based on direction from Mechanical Engineers.
- Convert field surveys into usable formats for plan and project development. Use AutoCAD to develop plans.
- Participate in the company's project improvement process by maintaining/improving CAD Detail Library and CAD Standards.
- Other duties may include copying/printing/scanning, assembly of equipment submittal packages, assistance in preparing work scope, and other tasks as assigned.
Job Specifications (incl. Education requirements, minimal experience, computer skills required, etc.)
- BS in Mechanical Engineering required or 2 years of CAD Drafting experience with formal AutoCAD/REVIT Drafting training/certification enrollment or completion.
- Must make autonomous decisions based on experience and project requirements.
- Develop a working knowledge of Permitting submittal requirements in the Mechanical field.
- Computer-savvy, willing and able to understand and learn new software programs. Developing proficiency of AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and other related software applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Increasing awareness of HVAC Systems and Components (Hot Water, Chilled Water, Condensing Water, Chillers, Fans, Heat Pumps, etc.)

Compensation Range: $29 - $34 per hour
