The Manager Content Engineer leads a team of content engineers supporting products through quality control, prompt engineering, fine tuning and execution. The Manager, Content Engineer partners closely with the technical team to lead prompt engineering, building products from R&D to production. The Manager will direct the work of the content engineering team focusing on leveraging AI (prompt engineering and Claude Code), no-code tooling and data analytics tooling (Kibana) to support external and internal customers. They will understand how to apply their expertise at scale, including via the use of prompt engineering for synthetic data generation, while exhibiting strategic product thinking to put user needs at the forefront of our work.

They are a trusted content engineer who understands the importance of a whole-team effort in creating great products and who enjoys seeing colleagues develop. They should contribute prompts themselves to set the standard for prompting, but know that the prompts they write is far less significant than their ability to shape the whole team's direction, focus, and delivery.

A Manager of Content Engineers is responsible for line management and career guidance. The ability to develop product talent, to represent your team and product from a technical perspective, and to drive collaboration with other teams and customers is all critical to success in this role.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field (UX/UI design, Interaction Design, HCI, Computer Science) or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience with GPT (or similar AI content generation technologies, Claude Code and Kibana)
  • Strong knowledge of Elasticsearch and its integration with Kibana
  • Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly and concisely
  • Experience interfacing with customers in a high-capacity and significantly driving the adoption of the product
  • 3+ years Experience in leading, coaching, and mentoring product teams
  • Experience with project management/documentation tools like Notion

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with other OpenAI products
  • Background in content creation or digital marketing
  • Experience with no-code or low-code platforms is a plus

Job Details

  • Location: San Francisco Bay Area (In San Francisco Office 2-3 times a week)
  • FLSA Status: Exempt

  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday with occasional evenings and/or weekends
  • Vehicle Required: No
  • Amount of Travel Required: 5% - Local Area Travel
  • Reports To: CTO
  • Salary Range: 100,000 to 125,000 DOE
