Vice President Member Business Loans

We're seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as Vice President, Member Business Loans. The Vice President, Member Business Loans is responsible for driving the growth, profitability, and quality of SESLOC's business lending portfolio and the Member Business Loans Department. This position is responsible for promoting superior member service, upholding regulatory requirements, and furthering SESLOC's mission to serve as the preferred financial institution and employer within our community.

What You'll Do

• Strategic Leadership & Business Development: Drive business lending growth by executing strategic initiatives; pursuing new business opportunities, partnerships and markets, and enhance products and services to maximize loan origination and member impact.
• Portfolio Management & Risk Oversight: Oversee portfolio administration and performance, monitor risk and asset quality, and recommend pricing and product enhancements to maintain profitability and achieve organizational goals.
• Policy, Compliance & Regulatory Excellence: Develop and refine lending policies and underwriting standards, ensure full regulatory compliance, and support successful audits and examinations.
• Team Leadership & Culture Building: Manage, mentor and coach team members, foster a culture of accountability and collaboration, champion our core values, and actively support professional growth.
• Member Experience & Community Engagement: Ensure exceptional member service delivery and satisfaction across all business lending channels. Represent SESLOC with community partners, strengthening relationships and offering cross-service opportunities to meet their organizational goals.
• Reporting & Analytics: Analyze production trends, asset quality, and risk metrics, prepare reports for key stakeholders, and use data-driven insights to recommend improvements.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
• 10+ years in business lending, preferably in the credit union space, in progressively responsible roles, and 5+ years of management experience.
• Expertise in lending theory, risk-based pricing, credit scoring, automated lending systems, collections, and portfolio risk analysis. Experience with workouts, problem loans, restructuring, ALLL analysis.
• Extensive knowledge of commercial real estate lending and business lending practices and procedures. Must have experience analyzing financial statements and assessing the viability of businesses.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, collaborative management style. Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• High level of integrity, diplomacy, and professionalism.

This office-based position will have occasional travel for business development and community engagement.
