Job Description
Location: On-Site in Santa Maria, CA
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Salary Range: $106,000 - $143,000 annually
General Description:
Ultimate Staffing is seeking a skilled and experienced Plumbing Estimator to join our team. This role is responsible for delivering accurate project quotes, supporting training initiatives, assisting the sales team, and enhancing our estimating tools and databases. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with deep industry knowledge and a collaborative mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead estimating efforts for various market types, especially large-scale pursuits (Design/Build, Design Assist, GMP, P&S, Budgets).
- Mentor and train Estimating Assistants and Estimators.
- Prepare detailed reports before and after bid submissions.
- Support Project Managers with estimated and budgeted projects.
- Follow up on bids and collaborate with trade estimators and project managers.
- Assist in developing project cost budgets and schedules of values.
- Participate in bid conferences, job walks, and change order negotiations.
- Contribute to material and equipment buyouts and pre-construction coordination.
- Collaborate with internal departments (Engineering, BIM, Fabrication, Warehouse, Purchasing, Field Ops).
- Attend training courses and contribute to estimating process improvements.
- Review peer estimates for quality control and prepare conceptual budgets.
- Maintain and enhance estimating software databases and tools.
- Participate in marketing events and special committees.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Construction or related field preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in estimating and project bidding.
- Strong ability to work independently with sound judgment.
- Proficient in management/accounting software and MS Excel/Word.
- Experience in Construction Estimating or Engineering (field and office).
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
