Sourcing and Procurement Specialist – Facilities Process Lead (San Jose, CR – Hybrid work model)

In the role of Process Lead in a Procurement service line, you will follow all predefined procedures including buying goods and services on behalf of the client's procurement organization, choosing suppliers, and negotiating prices to ensure that the right amount of the product or service is received when it is needed. You will be responsible for all activities related to the sourcing and procurement of commodities and services in indirect materials. The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to, identifying and implementing cost‑optimization initiatives/projects, negotiating with suppliers on commercial terms to achieve the best price, focusing on KPI delivery by catalog/contract creation and management, and running sourcing processes such as RFQ/RFP/RFI.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Indirect Business Services category portfolio leads and senior stakeholders (Facilities Management, Insurance, Office Supplies & Equipment, Events) on sourcing strategy creation and implementation.
  • Identify and implement sourcing/cost optimization projects.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with tight deadlines.
  • Negotiate contracts, prices, payment terms, and catalogs with suppliers while complying with procurement policies.
  • Run sourcing processes such as RFQ, RFP, and RFI.
  • Perform spend analytics to identify sourcing opportunities.
  • Develop savings calculation methodologies and obtain stakeholder sign‑offs.
  • Maintain professional relationships with stakeholders, escalating as needed and driving behavior for target achievement.
  • Identify risk and proactively drive decisions and outcomes.
  • Lead cross‑functional sourcing team activities, maximizing marketplace leverage and prioritizing business objectives.
  • Manage supplier selection processes, achieving cost savings on services projects within a structured procurement framework.
  • Identify opportunities for P&L savings through supplier aggregation and spend consolidation.
  • Prepare, analyze, negotiate, and administer RFIs, RFPs, SOWs, CRs, and terminations.
  • Own end‑to‑end sourcing and procurement processes.

Qualifications

Basic

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution. Three years of progressive experience in the specialty may be considered in lieu of each year of education.
  • At least 4 years of related experience in strategic sourcing and procurement.

Preferred

  • CPM/CPIM/PMP/SAP‑SRM certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of sourcing techniques: spend analytics, strategic sourcing methodology, negotiation, savings levers, contracting, catalog management.
  • Strong communication skills and customer‑service orientation.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills – ability to analyze and summarize cost data for optimization.
  • Task prioritization and organization skills, ensuring timely completion and tracking of all tasks.
  • Effective commercial and contract negotiation skills.
  • Ability to drive behavior toward achievement of targets.
  • Experience with sourcing systems such as Coupa, SAP, or Ariba.
  • Catalog and contract management expertise.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and project management tools.
  • Innovative thinking and value creation.
  • Fluent in Spanish, English, and Portuguese for business communication.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, team player, and flexible to take ownership of tasks.

Work Model

This role is a hybrid work model. You will typically be in the office in San Jose, CR one day per week. You should have the flexibility to be onsite as needed for meetings, training, or requested business requirements.
