Ultrasound Technologist (Outpatient), Per Diem, Days

Adventist Health Sierra Vista is located on the Central California Coast and has been providing care to the community since 1959.

Our 162?bed acute care facility features a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the county?designated trauma center. The nearby community of San Luis Obispo offers a lively environment within a fifteen?minute drive to Avila Beach, Pismo Beach, and other attractions.

Job Summary

Performs outpatient ultrasonic diagnostic procedures in accordance with accepted protocols as directed by physicians. Produces images of internal body tissues in order to diagnose and monitor a variety of conditions such as heart disease, pregnancy and cancer.

Job Requirements

• Certificate or Diploma from an approved ultrasound school: Required
• Bachelor's Degree in radiologic technology or equivalent: Preferred
• Master's Degree: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications

• American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification within one year of hire: Required
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Sonography: Preferred

Facility Specific License/Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS?BLS OR RQI BLS) certification: Required

Essential Functions

• Uses ultrasound equipment to direct high?frequency sound waves and capture quality images; summarizes, documents, and presents findings to physicians.
• Provides direct patient care: assesses patient condition, positions patient and equipment, monitors vital signs, and intervenes as needed.
• Maintains accurate records, billing information, and ensures HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
• Prepares rooms and patients for procedures; verifies equipment readiness.
• Performs other job?related duties as assigned.
