Senior Project Manager at ACCO Engineered Systems
Overview
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining a client base, managing HVAC/Plumbing/process sales, and coordinating field labor needs for each project in collaboration with field leadership. The role requires judgment and discretion in representing the company and a high level of commitment and involvement with the work and the companys business. The ideal candidate has experience in Plumbing Design-Build projects and may oversee a project based in San Luis Obispo with travel approximately 23 times per month.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the single source of responsibility to ACCO and the customer.
- Perform all project management functions required to promote and finalize sales, including concept engineering, complete estimates, written proposals, direct meetings, and successful project completion.
- Manage contracts including sales, estimating, procurement, and execution.
- Oversee field labor and installation sequencing between the customer and ACCOs field leadership.
- Understand financial aspects of the job: forecast, budget projection, and cost control within agreed limits.
- Prepare letters, proposals, memos, contracts, change orders, strategies, etc., for sound business procedures and legal protection.
- Handle billing and awareness of job costs.
- Build and manage relationships with external and internal customers.
- External: lead client meetings, develop contracts to finalize sales, and maintain cordial relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and the industry.
- Internal: supervise and coordinate ACCO departments (Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, Construction, Service) during project construction in a timely manner.
- Contribute to special studies, committees, and initiatives to advance ACCOs technical abilities in engineering, planning, estimating, and installation procedures.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers; consult with management and department heads; attend project management, sales, and construction meetings; schedule pre-construction job meetings with department heads and supervisors.
- Utilize internal resources to meet customer requirements: coordinate staff from all departments as needed; manage project teams to achieve the contracted scope; mentor others and participate in recruiting, training, and coaching of sales staff.
- Perform other duties and assignments as directed by upper management.
Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in estimating, design and/or management of HVAC projects ranging from $50,000 to $100+ million.
- Ability to operate independently and autonomously to achieve goals.
- Demonstrate integrity and a track record of developing new business.
- Strong interpersonal and project management abilities with organizational skills to handle a high volume of issues.
- Maintain a community presence in an industry-based or community-based organization.

Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally up to 25 pounds.
- Close and distance vision requirements.
- Ability to talk and hear; stand, walk, sit; use hands to handle or feel.
- Reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed for job site activities.
- Must possess and maintain a valid class C drivers license and be able to drive a vehicle.
- Regular and routine attendance.
Typical hours
Monday to Friday, starting as early as 6:00 am and ending around 7:00 pm.
Travel
Based on business needs, travel to and from the primary office to regional branch offices and job sites; locations vary.
Compensation
Competitive salary range: $138,000 to $230,000 per year. The actual compensation is determined by factors such as skills, experience, certifications, education or training, and location.
