Full-time Lecturer - City and Regional Planning

The City and Regional Planning Department seeks a full-time lecturer with a record of teaching in one or more of the following areas: community planning, urban design, and Geographic Information Systems.

The position is for the 202627 academic year. Candidates shall demonstrate the ability to lead either community planning studios or urban design studios. Teaching includes laboratory and lecture-format courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Rank and salary commensurate with qualifications, education, and experience of the individual selected. Anticipated hiring range: $79,000 - $86,112 per year.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A master's degree in planning, landscape architecture, urban design, architecture, or closely related field is required.
  • Five years of professional and/or teaching experience in the field of planning.
  • Demonstrated competence in urban design or community planning.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with students, faculty, staff, and administrators from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ph.D. or a Professional Doctorate in planning or a related field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated research/practice interests.
  • Professional and/or teaching experience includes supervision of project work.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of City and Regional Planning offers two PAB-accredited professionally-oriented programs - a Bachelor of Science and a Master of City and Regional Planning.
