SUMMARY

A radiation therapyaide supports radiation therapists by preparing treatment rooms,positioning and preparing patients for procedures, maintaining equipment andsupplies, and assisting with patient transport and scheduling. They also helpwith patient-related tasks like check-in and rooming and manage paperwork andinventory for the department. This role requires strong technical skills,meticulous attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills forcompassionate patient care.

ESSENTIALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Otherduties may be assigned.

Essential Duties:
• Rooming patients, assisting with patient transport, and helpingpatients get on and off treatment tables.
• Providing patient education for pre-treatment preparations andensuring patient comfort during procedures.
• Assisting with patient check-in and coordination of appointments.
• Preparing and stocking treatment rooms with linens and necessarysupplies.
• Assisting with the maintenance and storage of equipment andsupplies.
• Support Radiation Therapists.
• Processing paperwork and maintaining inventory of medicalsupplies.
• Working closely with radiation therapists and other members of the oncology team to ensure smooth and effective patient care.
• Attends mandatory company training sessions as required bystate/federal law where applicable.

Responsibilities

  1. Work co-operatively within a multidisciplinary team and assist other team members to achieve team objectives and work outcomes.
  2. Provide excellent customer service.

EDUCATIONand EXPERIENCE
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Healthcare experience preferred
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to assist patients physically
• CPR/BLS certification (or willing to obtain)
• Ability to use clinical administration systems as well as Microsoft Office Software
