Overview


Join to apply for the Part-Time Parking Officer role at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.


Reports to the University Police, Lead Parking Supervisor. The Parking Officer will patrol campus on foot, bicycle, and/or by vehicle to provide enforcement of campus parking rules and regulations, including issuing citations, immobilizing and impounding vehicles, directing traffic and assisting police with traffic accidents and emergency calls for service. They will assist with university events and provide parking information and general university information to visitors, guests, students, staff and faculty.

Qualifications



  • Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent and six months related experience.

  • Licenses: Must possess (or have the ability to obtain by date of hire) a valid Class C California Driver's License. Must possess a good driving record.

  • Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated ability to work independently; observe and recall details; learn and apply parking rules and traffic control procedures;

  • Ethics and Communication: Honest and ethical; strong communication and customer service skills; ability to communicate verbally and in writing with tact and diplomacy; sensitivity to a diverse community.

  • Knowledge: Working knowledge of or ability to quickly learn parking-related equipment and automated systems; working knowledge of applicable radio systems (training provided if needed).

  • Disposition: Demonstrated ability to deal calmly with irate individuals in high-visibility situations.



Salary and Benefits


Anticipated Hiring Range: $22.36 - $27.23 Per Hour


Classification Range: $21.23 - $30.63 Per Hour
