The physical therapist evaluates and treats patients for physical therapy and rehabilitation. The role requires guiding and monitoring patient care throughout treatment and follow-up. Responsibilities include supervising PT Assistants and Aides in patient care. Effective communication with healthcare providers is essential for ensuring quality patient care. Accurate documentation of patient charts and necessary follow-ups is required. The therapist must ensure that patients are comfortable and address any questions they may have. Close collaboration with front office staff for scheduling and patient follow-up is expected. Independent decision-making regarding patient care is a critical aspect of this role. Involvement in business marketing and referral processes may be necessary. Compliance with HIPAA policy and procedures is mandatory. Familiarity with billing policies and procedures regarding various payment sources is important. The position involves physical mobility, including prolonged sitting, walking, and standing. Lifting up to 50 pounds and assisting in the movement of patients with mobility restraints is required. Supervisory responsibility includes overseeing the work of PT Assistants and Aides. The work environment is set in an outpatient rehabilitation clinic. Expected to protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with privacy policies and procedures. Active participation in privacy training and communication of privacy policy information is required. Compliance with OSHA and other federal and state regulations is mandatory. This position does not require travel. Continuing education courses are preferred.
