Job Description

Turner & Townsend Heery is seeking a Field Resident Engineer to oversee day-to-day construction activities for a $50M new wing being constructed at an operational detention center. The Field Engineer will coordinate closely with the CMAR and County staff to ensure proper execution, adherence to schedule and safety, and quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily on-site representation during construction activities.
  • Monitor and report on construction progress, quality, safety, and conformance to design.
  • Support RFI and submittal processes, maintain issue logs, and assist in resolving field coordination issues.
  • Participate in inspections, punch list walks, and project closeout processes.
  • Ensure construction phasing and contractor activities align with custody operational protocols.
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or other related degree.
  • 5+ years of field experience with new building construction, preferably in institutional or correctional settings.
  • Knowledge of construction sequencing, document control, and site logistics.

Preferred:

  • Experience with correctional design standards and public-sector project procedures.
  • Familiarity with DB or DBB delivery in secure or critical environments.

Additional Information

The salary range for this full-time role is $100K-$135k per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate's experience and qualifications.
