The County of San Luis Obispo Public Works Department is offering a career opportunity for a Supervising Water Resources Engineer with flood control, watershed, and/or drainage management technical expertise, and related project development and management experience. The position includes leading and supervising engineers and technicians and working with other key partners to implement the flood management program associated with the leveed portion of Arroyo Grande Creek, and, for other areas of the county as assigned, understanding flooding, drainage and water resource conditions; setting sustainability goals; identifying feasible solutions to meet those goals; and facilitating the initial implementation of those solutions. The Division is also tasked with developing and implementing regional water supply resiliency strategies and projects and facilitating an integrated approach to watershed and groundwater management. It also includes working with the Water Resources Division Manager and four other supervisors at a leadership level to ensure the Division is an effective partner in the achievement of sustainable water resources in all areas of the county.
