Extra Help Court Reporters are needed in our Santa Maria and Lompoc Courts. Extra help employees work on an as-needed basis with the Court. While regular acceptance of assignments is desired, extra help Court Reporters have the option to decline assignments offered. Under general supervision, serves as the Official Court Reporter for assigned proceedings in Santa Barbara courts by recording and transcribing verbatim accounts of official court proceedings using machine shorthand; furnishing timely transcripts of such records and performing other related work as may be required. Examples of Duties Takes and transcribes verbatim statement of court proceedings as required. Identifies speakers properly and notes the introduction of exhibits or evidence.
