R.L. Klein & Associates, a healthcare company, is seeking a qualified Recreation Specialist for the San Luis Obispo location. We need 12 months of continuous experience (no career gaps). Candidates must have an active professional license from California State Board

Role: Recreation Therapist

Pay Rate: $70/hr

Location: San Luis Obispo, CA

Recreation Therapist Correctional Facility

Qualifications:

- Minimum 12 months of recent experience (within the last 3 years) providing recreation/therapeutic services in a public or private institution (internships not accepted).

- Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation with emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation, including supervised fieldwork (NCTRC/CBRPC approved).

- Must hold required license/certification in Recreation Therapy.

- Proficient in English (spoken & written) for effective communication and documentation.

Responsibilities:

- Plan, develop, and implement recreation therapy programs for inmates/youth.

- Conduct assessments and create individualized treatment plans.

- Use sports, arts, music, and group activities to promote social and emotional well-being.

- Document progress and report on patient outcomes.

- Collaborate with healthcare staff, clinicians, and custody personnel.
