Astound Broadband is searching for a Fiber Splicing Technician in our San Luis Obispo County, CA area. This position plays a vital role in ensuring quality and timely deliveries of our fiber services to customers. This candidate will perform prep and fusion of single-mode or multi-mode fiber optic cables for both inside and outside plant construction. They will be performing fiber panel audits and splice case audits, as well as properly placing mid-sheath splices. Duties and Responsibilities Perform prep and fusion of single-mode or multi-mode fiber optic cables for both inside and outside plant construction. Perform fiber panel audits and splice case audits. Properly place mid-sheath splices. Test and troubleshoot fiber using an OTDR, optical power meter, fiber identifier and scope. Perform installation and testing of fiber cross connects Work with Construction Project Managers and Fiber Design to perform splicing as directed.
