Overview:
Provides comprehensive construction management support to Electric Maintenance and Construction (M&C) Coordinators. Applies full knowledge of electric utility construction practices to manage field execution and project coordination across multiple electric distribution projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Coordination & Oversight Supports electric projects concurrently, working closely with Electric M&C Supervisors and stakeholders to align construction targets, resource needs, and contract deliverables.
Contractor Engagement & Scope Development Participates in civil contractor requests (internal & external). Compiles internal drawings and data to develop work-specific scopes and supports contract documentation.
Field Readiness & Constructability Attends job scope walkdowns and design review meetings with Engineering, M&C, and Project teams when applicable. Provides constructability input and ensures field alignment with design intent.
Safety & Compliance Leadership Ensures stakeholder crews adhere to site-specific safety plans and environmental/land permit conditions. Acts as Lead *** Representative in the field when required.
Pre-Construction & Kickoff Support Coordinates pre-construction activities including kickoff meetings, material delivery logistics, and permitting compliance with local agencies and municipalities.
Progress Tracking & Documentation Leads weekly construction and progress meetings. Publishes meeting notes and maintains accurate field records, including civil requests, USA, Applications for Work, Traffic Control, and Environmental.
System & Tool Utilization Updates project status in workload management tools such as Microsoft Power Platform, SAP, Salesforce, EDGIS, and DMS.
Required Skills:
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years in industrial or utility construction.
Desired: 5 years in electric utility construction or maintenance, with experience in distribution or substation environments.
Technical Skills & Competencies:
Proficiency in Primavera P3/P5/P6 and UNIFIER or similar project management tools.
Strong understanding of electric utility safety standards and permitting processes.
Ability to read and interpret engineering design documents.
Skilled in cost tracking, contract administration, and field inspection.
Proficient in Microsoft Power Apps, Power Platform, Teams, Excel, and Outlook.
Other Requirements:
Ability to perform under deadlines and in emergency response situations.
Willingness to travel approximately 50%, with occasional overnight stays.
