About the Role


We are seeking an experienced and results-driven BAS/Controls Project Manager to lead building automation system (BAS) projects from inception to completion in Pismo Beach, CA. This role is ideal for a candidate with strong technical knowledge of control systems, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams through complex commercial and industrial controls installations.


Key Responsibilities


  • Manage the full lifecycle of BAS and HVAC controls projects, from planning and design through installation, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, technicians, and clients to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget.
  • Review control system design, submittals, and construction drawings to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Schedule and oversee field staff and subcontractors, ensuring safety and quality standards are upheld.
  • Provide technical support during installation, programming, and commissioning phases.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders.
  • Track project progress, budget, materials, and documentation using project management tools.
  • Lead regular project meetings and issue status reports to internal teams and clients.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related fiel.
  • 5+ years of experience in BAS/HVAC Controls project management.
  • Strong knowledge of systems such as Tridium, Niagara, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems, DDC controls, networking, and low-voltage electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret HVAC plans, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
  • Proficient in project management software (MS Project, Procore, Bluebeam, etc.).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • PMP certification or similar credential is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites within the Central Coast region.
