National Award-Winning Studio is actively seeking a Project Architect/Project Manager for their San Luis Obispo office. The Project Manager/Project Architect leads project teams in collaboration with Partners and Chief Executives to deliver exceptional architectural projects from programming through closeout. This role demands excellence in client service through comprehensive management of multiple project budgets, scope, schedules, and team staffing. Success in this position requires a creative and flexible approach to design and construction challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate weekly meetings with production teams and consultants
Generate and manage task lists and project timelines
Coordinate jurisdictional meetings, submissions, and code reviews
Facilitate owner coordination meetings and client communications
Establish and coordinate structural gridlines with engineering teams
Direct and review reflected ceiling plans, floor plans, and building sections
Identify and develop appropriate wall sections, floor plan details, and partition types
Ensure compliance with district standards and specifications
Coordinate clash detection processes
Review and approve shop drawings and submittals
Coordinate specification development at 50%, 75%, and 95% completion stages
Verify dimensions, schedules, and technical requirements
Provide quality control through verification and sign-off on all sheets
Oversee special architectural elements such as main entries
Collaborate with MEP engineers to ensure appropriate space requirements
Coordinate with foodservice specialists on program requirements
Direct production staff in implementing design solutions
Review exterior elevations with design teams
Here's What You'll Need:
Licensed Architect (preferred)
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture (required)
5+ years of professional experience (preferred)
Proficiency in Revit
Strong customer service orientation
Excellent organizational and communication skills
