Patent Litigation Associate (AM Law 100)

3-4 days onsite

Role:

You will assist in representing clients in patent disputes, including infringement lawsuits, validity challenges, and related proceedings.

Responsibilities:

1. Case Management: Assist in all phases of patent litigation, including pre-trial preparation, discovery, motion practice, trial, and appeal.
2. Legal Research: Conduct in-depth research on patent law, prior art, and relevant case precedents to support case strategies.
3. Drafting Documents: Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and responses, as well as settlement agreements and other legal documents.
4. Court Appearances: Participate in hearings, depositions, and potentially trials under the supervision of senior attorneys.

Qualifications:

1. Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction is required.
2. Experience: 2–5 years of experience in patent litigation or intellectual property law (varies by firm; entry-level candidates may be considered with strong credentials).
3. Technical Background: Undergraduate degree or work experience in a technical field (e.g., engineering, computer science, life sciences) is highly preferred due to the complex nature of patent cases.

Compensation:

$230-390k + bonus
