This role is essential and is responsible for smoothing out, leveling and finishing freshly poured concrete at our jobs and or construction sites. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently or as a part of a crew. You'll be involved in a variety of projects from start to finish.Job Duties: Form for concrete and place rebar once layout is given Assist with materials takeoffs Assist with layout, setting stringline, setting anchor bolts, etc. Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete using hand and power tools Read and have the understanding of blueprints, drawings, or oral instructions to plan work Repair chipped, cracked, or damaged concrete structures Communicate and collaborate effectively with the crew and take direction from supervisors, foremen, and members of other trades Ensure work is performed safely and in compliance with building codes and project specifications Follow all safety procedures and project protocols to maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site RequirementsProfessional Skills: Comfortable and able to use cement mason tools and knowledge of their use Concrete finishing: 1+ year (preferred) High standards and attention to detail in all work related to project(s) Strong knowledge of construction techniques, tools, and materials OSHA 10 or 30 certification (preferred but not required) Strong communication and organizational skills Must have your own set of tools Personal Strengths: Strong work ethic Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency Ability to work independently or in a team environment Comfortable learning new tools or techniques Problem-solver Physical Requirements:Performance of the required duties may require the following: Due to the nature of our work and as part of our commitment to safety and integrity, ALL final candidates are required and must successfully pass a background check and drug screening before starting employment. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. This job requires lifting, bending, carrying, and climbing. The employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.
