Senior Civil Design Engineer - Drainage Emphasis

  1. Duties: Responsible for developing project design concepts, plans, reports, and specifications for various civil engineering projects, including commercial, industrial, and residential developments, as well as public works facility improvements. Tasks include grading, roadway geometric layout, erosion control, SWPPP, low impact design, post-construction requirements, drainage system design, hydrology and hydraulics, design exceptions, cost estimating, and preparing project reports. Provide coordination and communication with clients and agency staff. Manage contracts and budgets, supervise, and train design and production staff.

  2. Specific Experience: Experience in General Civil engineering with an emphasis on hydraulics and hydrology, including report preparation, plans, quantities, and bonding estimates for land development projects. Knowledge of stormwater requirements for roads, stormwater regulations, low impact development, and entitlement processes.

  3. Key Expectations: Demonstrate professionalism, a responsible work ethic, and clear communication skills. Learn and adhere to company Quality Control procedures. Show strong project management skills, including scope, budget, and schedule control. Experience in project delivery, team management, and client interactions. Ability to prepare proposals, RFPs, SOQs, and participate in interviews.

  4. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field, California professional registration, minimum of nine years of relevant experience, and proficiency in Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, FLO-2D, StormCAD, and HydroCAD.
