Job Title: Construction Estimator

Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to assess project requirements, prepare accurate cost estimates, and facilitate successful project bids. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction estimating, strong communication skills, and proficiency in relevant software.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assess project requirements and specifications to provide accurate cost estimates.
  2. Calculate costs for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracted work.
  3. Prepare detailed, competitive bid proposals for clients.
  4. Source and negotiate prices with suppliers and subcontractors.
  5. Maintain detailed records of estimates, contracts, bids, and projects.
  6. Communicate with clients regarding project requirements and updates.
  7. Identify and evaluate potential risks, developing mitigation strategies.

Job Performance Metrics:

  1. Accuracy of estimates compared to actual project costs.
  2. Bid win rate.
  3. Project turnaround time for estimates.
  4. Cost savings achieved through negotiations and forecasting.
  5. Client satisfaction based on feedback.
  6. Compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 1 year of estimating or relevant experience.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree, or relevant experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 (Excel, Word, SharePoint).
  • Bluebeam or similar takeoff software preferred.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks.
  • Valid driver's license with REAL ID or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
