Human Resources Generalist @ RSVC Company | Human Resources Management

RSVC Company is looking for a diligent Staff Accountant to join our accounting department. The Staff Accountant's responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports, performing bank reconciliations, performing credit card reconciliations, performing account reconciliations, printing checks, assisting with budget and close processes, conducting internal audits, and maintaining accounts payable documentation. You will also be assisting the accounting department as needed and respond to information requests by management and for auditing purposes.

Job Description

As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting for the company, including preparing and recording entries, working with external auditors and assisting with internal and external reporting.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Must be organized, concise, detailed, flexible, and efficient
  • Team orientation is a must
  • Strong technology skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to apply effective problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Sage 300 (Timberline) preferred
  • Flexible and able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to meet or exceed deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Specific Job Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Maintain our fixed asset register and record monthly entries for depreciation, additions and disposals
  • Prepare journal entries for purchases and sales
  • Prepare workpapers and journal entries in compliance with GAAP
  • Reconcile and maintain balance sheet account balances which include:
  • A/R billing and reconciliations
  • A/P reconciliations
  • Job cost to general ledger reconciliations

Assist Accounting Managers with the following

  • Preparation and coordination of external audits and reviews
  • Month end analysis & ad-hoc reporting
  • Tax documentation

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in fields such as accounting, finance, economics, or business administration, or previous experience in these fields
  • At least 3 years of experience in the construction or a construction related industry

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Proficient in job costing and financial analysis
  • Strong understanding of construction accounting principles
  • Expertise in managing cash flow, liquidity, and working capital
  • Proficiency in managing investment portfolios and understanding market trends
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and standards, ensuring compliance
  • Strong analytical abilities to interpret financial data and make informed decisions
  • Ability to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational goals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear financial reporting and stakeholder engagement
  • Familiarity with financial software and tools, such as ERP systems and Excel
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address financial challenges and find effective solutions
  • Timely and accurate processing of payments
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting, processing, and analysis
  • Strong ethical standards and integrity in handling financial matters
  • Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality on all financial and employee related matters

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching to access documents and other office items
  • Occasional pushing and pulling of general office items
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Regular use of hands and fingers for typing and handling documents
  • Ability to stand and walk for short periods of time during meetings and site visits
  • Frequent reading of documents and computer screens, requiring good vision
  • Extended screen time, necessitating regular breaks to prevent eye strain
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Occasional travel to project sites, requiring ability to drive
