Position Overview

Based in San Luis Obispo, CA, Parker Sanpei is a lifestyle public relations and marketing agency with deep roots in the lifestyle industry, with longstanding relationships with top media and journalists around the world. We integrate creative and strategic communications concepts for media and trade relations, marketing solutions, and social media campaigns to create and implement highly effective outreach campaigns. We have a solid track record of elevating brands to increase market presence. We're seeking a dynamic, strategic, and detail-oriented Public Relations & Marketing Manager to lead and support client relationships and objectives, bridging marketing, public relations, social media, copywriting, and event coordination. This individual will play a key role in developing and executing integrated strategies that drive visibility, enhance reputation, and achieve measurable results for our clients.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
2. 3–5+ years of agency or in-house public relations experience
3. Proven track record of securing top-tier media placements
4. Existing relationships with media contacts are a plus
5. Creative, strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
6. Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
7. Experience with social media management and analytics tools
8. Ability to manage multiple clients and projects in a fast-paced environment
9. Highly organized with attention to detail and deadlines

Skills:

1. Excellent oral and written communications - AP Style; proficient writer/editor
2. Social media savvy
3. Google Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Canva, Muckrack, Looker Studio, and project management tools

Pay Rate: DOE

Account Management

1. Develop and maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients, acting as their go-to communications partner
2. Provide day-to-day leadership and strategic counsel
3. Develop and manage comprehensive marketing and PR strategies tailored to client goals
4. Represent both Parker Sanpei and clients at media, trade, and community events
5. Write and present proposals for prospective clients and participate in business development meetings
6. Uphold and reflect each client's voice and brand vision across communications, including social media
7. Maintain and manage Parker Sanpei's brand presence on digital and social platforms

Public Relations

1. Cultivate strong relationships with journalists, influencers, and media outlets
2. Secure meaningful coverage in top-tier print, digital, and broadcast media
3. Monitor and report on media coverage and PR performance metrics
4. Represent clients at press events, award ceremonies, and industry trade shows
5. Plan, coordinate, and host media events and press experiences
6. Craft compelling messaging, press materials, press releases, pitches, briefing documents, blog posts, and story angles tailored to client goals and target audiences
7. Develop brand positioning and messaging frameworks for clients
8. Write compelling copy for websites, brochures, and a variety of marketing materials
9. Provide direction and insight on brand identity, web and print design, and creative strategy
10. Lead the development and execution of social media campaigns and digital strategy
11. Manage photography and videography for clients
12. Lead advertising strategies and placement
13. Build and manage social media accounts for clients, ensuring brand consistency and engagement
